Duration of the Exhibition: From 15 June to 27 September 2024
Opening Exhibition: 15 June, from 3 pm to 5 pm
Place: Brunswick East, Unit 3D Stamford Works, Gillett Street, Dalston (London), N16 8JH
As a talented emerging artist, Jozefína's work invites visitors on a transformative journey, from the mundane to the magical. Drawing inspiration from her upbringing in the lush greenery of Central Europe and her experiences living in both rural villages and bustling cities, she offers a unique perspective on the inherent beauty of nature and the art of blending rural and urban lifestyles seamlessly.
Central to Jozefína's artistic process is her conscious selection of locally available materials, which she skilfully transforms into captivating works of art. Through large-scale photographs capturing her creative process, she invites viewers to witness the subtle yet profound impact of her artistic endeavours, encouraging reflection on our individual roles in shaping the world around us.
Her exploration extends beyond mere observation, as she employs innovative techniques such as cyanotype to repurpose everyday objects into mesmerising expressions of natural beauty. Each piece is infused with metaphorical depth, encouraging viewers to reconsider their relationship with the environment and the possibilities of sustainable living.
In her reflective moments at the end of the exhibition, Jozefína offers a glimpse into her creative journey, inviting viewers to pause and contemplate the interconnectedness of all things. From the vantage point of her "sky farm," this introspective finale serves as a poignant reminder of the importance of mindfulness and appreciation for the world we inhabit, encapsulating the essence of her artistic vision.
